The third edition of Unplugged Zimbabwe after COVID-19 kicked off on a high note with Zim Hip Hop artists taking turns to wow revellers at Greendale Sports Club in Harare on Saturday as they solidified their superiority in the music industry.

One would have thought there was going to be a low turn out after there were heavy rains early in the afternoon but thousands of people thronged Greendale Sports Club for the event.

Unplugged Zimbabwe which was sponsored by Coca-Cola Zimbabwe is a monthly blankets and wine style music concert hosted in a family friendly environment that caters for every member of the family.

It is one of the few cozy events in the city where the audience does not worry about problems like parking space and pick pocketing, where people from all walks of life, even the socialites like go to enjoy with family and friends.

The show started with a great performance from Adiona who warmed up the crowds for the other performers that were to follow.

Man of the moment Leo Maggoz took to the stage soon after Adiona and he did not disappoint. He started off with some of the new songs like Energy from his latest EP Drill Lives Matter. Leo rounded off his performance with his monster hit-track Fire Emoji and revellers went into a frenzy as they sang along to the song of the year contender.

Speaking to The ZimTainment on the sidelines of the show, Leo Maggoz was thrilled with the responses and reactions from the fans and he thanked the organisers of Unplugged Zimbabwe for putting up such a show.

“The response was beautiful, it was massive as you noticed, even the engagement from the fans, I did not expect something like this,” Leo said.

“This is a big event, one of the biggest events in the country and I am happy to have performed at Unplugged thanks to the organisers.”

The energetic King 98 took to the stage soon after Leo Maggoz and he also gave a thrilling performance. He spiced his set with some entertaining dance routines with is his crew. His Amapiano songs kept people on their feet and he surely was one of the best performers for the night.

The biggest highlight of the show if comments from attendees are anything to by was the performance by Holy Ten, the self proclaimed father of Zimbabwean Hip Hop.

As Holy Ten performed some of his hit songs that fans were singing along word for word, he later called Leo Magozz and M-Killer back on stage to perform Fire Emoji. His energy and connection with the fans on stage was amazing.

When he finished his set and got off stage, fans kept asking for more as they chanted his name. He is surely one of the top artists in the country right now.

While the DJs did not disappoint, ExQ showed why he is one of the top artists in Zimbabwe. His set was amazing and fans also sang along to some of his hit songs. Costa Titch who who was the main act gave a solid performance as he performed some of his songs like Big Flexa.
