As we head into the third quarter for the year 2022, there are amazing songs that have been released by Zimbabwean artists already, and probably there are more yet to be released.
Some of the songs have gotten popular to a point where netizens have already declared some of them to the the songs of the for 2022, though we still have a few months till the year end.
We have had songs that have taken over Tik Tok, some songs that have been popular on Instagram/Facebook reels and stories whilst some of them have become anthems in night clubs and public events.
What’s interesting is how the new breed of artists have taken over the year 2022 already, a few years back we would know that two or three big artists will already have the most popular songs.
With Hip Hop slowly finding its way into the market, it’s not a surprise that most of the biggest songs for 2022 so far feature a Zim Hip Hop artist, and this is something worth celebrating for the Zim Hip Hop community.
Here are the biggest songs for the year 2022 in Zimbabwe so far:
1. Ishan, Annatoria – Lola (Official Music Video)
Ishan is no stranger to making hit songs and this time the Kure hit-maker joined forces with songbird Annatoria
to give us world class joint that has left many in awe. If social media buzz is anything to by, Lola is one of the biggest songs to date.
2. Kae Chaps – Gehena (Official Music Video)
Another artist who is not a stranger when it comes to making hit songs is Kae Chaps. The Juzi hit-maker who rose to fame during the COVID19 Lockdown showed that Juzi was not a fluke, and he can drop a hit song anytime with the release of Gehena which took social media streets by storm.
3. QOUNFUZED FT BAZOOKER – KAMUNAMATO KEKUBHAWA (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
Usually it’s rare to come up with a list of big songs in Zimbabwe without and not find a Zimdancehall song. Considered one of the most consistent artist in Zimbabwe, Qounfuzed teamed up with the talented lyrical juggernaut Bazooker to give us Kamunamato Kekubhawa. The song has gone on to be a national anthem as it is enjoying great airplay, being played many times in clubs and outings.
4. Leo Magozz x Bling4 x Brian Jeck – FIRE EMOJI Official Video (Drill)
New boys Leo Magozz, Bling4 and Brian Jeck came as a surprise with Fire Emoji, a song which became an instant hit. Fire Emoji is one of the songs that have put Zim Hip Hop on the map this year.
5. Saintfloew – Silas Mavende (Official Video)
At one point this year Saintfloew was regarded as the best Hip Hop artist in Zimbabwe, his flow and voice won the hearts of many, and when the former Samanyanga Sounds artist released Silas Mavende, it became an instant hit. Silas Mavende is another Zim Hip Hop song that has taken Zimbabwe by storm.
