Organisers of the Zim Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA) have opened submissions for this year’s edition, with winners to be crowned at a ceremony slated for December 8 in Harare.
The awards director, Aldrian “Beefy” Harrison in a statement said the submission of entries that opened on Monday via their website will close on October 31.
The adjudication will them be done from November 1 to 11 and the nominees will be announced on November 14.
“Its Official, the Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA) are back to celebrate the 12th anniversary and will be held on Thursday, 8th December 2022 in Harare. The awards will happen both virtual and conventional venue to be announced . Our theme this year is strength in numbers,” Harrison said.
” As the leading authority of Zimbabwe Hip Hop culture and Africa’s first and prestigious hip hop awards, our mission is to use elements of popular youth culture and media to inspire, motivate and empower the music of young people by acknowledging and celebrating local artists in their respective genres. We continue to grow as we are get more regional and international recognition from various media houses and artists. 2022 celebrates the 12th anniversary of the Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA).
“We would like to announce a new platform which will be a game changer to the genre, The beatbox streaming app, beatbox is a hip hop entertainment streaming platform exclusive to the hip hop genre . This platform will give artists and creatives the opportunity to upload their content and share it to the rest of the globe.
“The beat box app will soon be available on the app store and the google play store. As the awards are upon us submissions will be made via our website as the norm and eventually on beatbox.”
“Please note our headline partner will be announced at the nominees reveal Monday 14 November 2022,” he added.
