It is going to be all glitz and glamour at this year’s Carrick Ambassador’s Cup as Polo meets fashion and wine at Bushman Polo Club in Ruwa.
The annual Polo tournament which is set for July 6 and 7, is billed as the most popular social highlight of the year as top Zimbabwean socialites mix and mingle.
Dubbed the #RuwaJuly by socialites, the event is going to be hosted by the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr Thorsten Hutter.
The event which is synonymous with high fashion will see a fierce battle as people vie for the best dressed award.
The theme for this year is, “Pretty Posh – Oh my Gosh” and will see a red carpet filmed for online and satellite distribution.
Polo is a sport which is played with four pony and rider combinations on each side. The polo grounds are at least 200 yards wide with each team consisting of four mounted players which can be mixed teams of both men and women.
Bushman Safaris managing director described the sport as one of the most dangerous in the world and is no longer an elitist sport as it used to be.
“It now comprises of people from all walks of life with females making up more than 25% of the players around the world.”
This year’s event is going to be sponsored by Carrick Wealth an International Wealth Management Company and they have promised that this year’s event will be bigger.
