Acclaimed ZimDancehall icon Wallace Chirumiko (better-known to local music fans as Winky D)’s album Gafa Futi is out and people are after it.
Apart from the lyrics, however, social media networks today woke up to pictures of the “Dancehall Igwe” wearing an alien costume that they have never seen him wearing before.
The costume has since attracted great attention perhaps even more than the tracks, at least for now.
Varied reactions have started pouring in with most suggesting that the Gafa was imitating Jamaican Dancehall artists, the likes of Alkaline and Tommy Lee being mentioned.
Jamaican artist, Alkaline
Alkaline is usually seen wearing a mask of The Vendetta while Tommy Lee wears a white mask like the ones worn by Jabbawockeez.
One question remains: Is Winky D out of new ideas or is he merely gunning for pole position in the international spectrum?

Meanwhile, the album seems to have lived up to standards if comments on the Judgement Yard show are anything to go by.
The album which was produced by sought after and talented producer Prince “Oskid” Tapfumaneyi of Oskid Productions precedes a skirmish between the two parties over the removal of the latter’s tags on the album.
The Dancehall Igwe (Winky D’s other moniker) could however be on a brink of another success story as reports suggest that the show which airs on  ZiFM was one of the most streamed programmes as people listened to the fresh tunes.
