The festival, whose mission is to amplify new voices from Zimbabwe and create a safe space for young consumers of entertainment, will take place on the 3rd of September 2022 at the Heritage Adventure Park near Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare.

The artist line up which was recently released consists of budding artists from across Zimbabwe’s provinces with almost all music genres represented.

Speaking to The ZimTainment on their artist selection criteria, earGROUND’s founder Plot Mhako said that they have been planning for the festival for the past two years and have been reviewing artists through their weekly of artists to watch.

For the past two years we have been observing and reviewing new artists with a weekly feature of five new voices to watch. This regular feature helped us track some of the new and emerging voices. We used a lot of social media platforms to identify more artists but ultimately we wanted our line-up to represent the diversity of our country in languages, locations, genres and appeal. It is this desire for diversity and inclusion that gives a national outlook on our final list, said Mhako.

People should expect a never seen or heard before musical and cultural experience, something that will impact the national trajectory. As for us we are expecting a successful show in a safe environment.”

Shian, a Hip Hop artist from Masvingo, one of the artist who is set to perform at the festival said that she cannot wait for such an opportunity to perform in front of a huge crowd.

I am excited about it because l am going to meet new people there and have the opportunity to perform in front of a huge crowd and some artists that are quite big. l have been making preparations, l will just have to wait for the day and give it my all l hope the people are going to like it, and we are going to perform as a Duo – Monzon and Shian,” she told The ZimTainment.
