Saturday the 26thof September was characterized with a great hype of entertainment activities in the city of kings. This was the weekend the curtain fell down for Intwasa Arts Festival which had gone for a week blazing with South Africa’s Black Motion closing down the festival. Elsewhere there was also an album launch for the Luveve boy Cal Vin which saw artists like Asaph and H-town based gospel rapper Brythreesixty.

Hartsfield sports club was the place to be for all youths especially all college students around Bulawayo. Hartsfield hosted the National University of Science and Technology’s (NUST) freshman bash. The event was characterized by all students from different colleges in Bulawayo as well as those who just wanted to have fun. Some would like to say that it was more of a fashion show than anything else as the students were dressed to kill. Scheduled to perform at the bash was the Makorokoza Pamusawu president King Shaddy.

King Shaddy who was the main act at the party came late as other students had started going back to their homes. As soon as he entered the gate there was chaos at the grounds as people wanted to catch a glimpse of Mr Magoo. King Shaddy wowed the crowd with his old time hits such as chipanera and mairos. After twenty minutes he dropped the mic as he insisted that time won’t allow him and this frustrated people who had not had enough him. As he was now walking to his car in accompanied by his guys, he suddenly started to chase one of the students who is believed to have snatched the wrist watch he was wearing. He only ran for a bit then he went back to his car. This left students laughing their lungs off after the scenario.

After King Shaddy’s performance people started streaming out of the gate looking for taxis and those with car finding their ways home. This was how Bulawayo was characterized on Saturday.
