Zimdancehall sensation Nicodemus Mutize, aka Jah Signal, will on Wednesday launch his debut album titled Jaya in front of invited guests at the upmarket Club Sankayi before taking it to the high-density suburb of Kuwadzana’s K2 Grounds for an open-to-the-public unveiling.
The 12-track offering comes at a time the musician has been riding on a wave of success following the release of the hit single Shinga Muroora whose visuals hit one million in less than two months.
“We are now prepared and everything is in place for both launches and the fans should be ready for all the song because this is a hit album with all the songs equally good,” the 24-year-old musician’s manager Hillary Mutake said.
Mutake added that the difference in venues was meant to cater for the different audiences that follow and listen to their music.
“The first one at Club Sankayi is for executives and people will attend by invitation. We came up with the idea after extensive consultations where we realised that some of our followers could not make it to Kuwadzana for different reasons,” he said.
“The one in K2 is a free event and we will start putting up posters tomorrow [Friday], but all the big and well-known names in the industry will perform there.”
According to him, the event is a way for Jah Signal to thank his followers as well as stay in touch with his roots where his talent was recognised.
“Taking the launch there is a way of thanking the fans and giving back to the community that moulded Jah Signal into the person he is today,” he said.
Meanwhile, the camp is also planning on setting up a live band soon as a way of growing the constantly soaring brand. – @ken_nyavaya
